Search terms groups

A group of search terms is a set of search terms and search engines that you manage as a unit, to monitor the positioning of your targeted area.

How search terms groups work?

A search terms group may contain multiple search terms related to a search engine. When choosing a search engine, you can also set the country, language present in the country, the device (desktop or mobile), but also the city if you want to use.

Grouping topics and objectives

Search terms groups have the benefit to categorize your search terms that have similar topics. For example, if you have women’s shoes, you can list all of the search terms that are relevant to the women’s shoes, for example:

  • women’s shoes
  • shoes for women
  • basketball usa women

You can also choose to categorize the search terms that contain the same search term each time, for example:

  • black women shoes
  • yellow women shoes
  • blue women shoes

Thus, the search terms groups aim to properly segment the organization of your search terms. Therefore, when you analyse your reports, you focus on the products or services belonging to a dedicated part of your website.

Geolocation for your local searches

If you want to use geolocation, you can use the search term groups targeting the cities you want. To view the cities you are targeting, you can choose “Desktop Local” option, or “Mobile Local”. The Top 100 largest cities in the list (by population) in each country appears.

For example, a restaurant owner in New-York can add the search terms related to a search his town :

  • restaurant
  • restaurant new-york
  • restaurant in new-york
